The project was part of the installation Abito Sonoro_Play the space at Danae Festival Milano October 2023, Laterale, Fabbrica Del Vapore, Spazio Fattoria. 
Danae Festival is an international multidisciplinary project, born in Milan in 1999, curated by Teatro delle Moire, Alessandra De Santis and Attilio Nicoli Cristiani. In this event, the module of abito sonoro was part of the propose. The exercise aim was creating a map-carpet coloured together, following the tension and surrending to the dizziness provoked by shapes, colours, matters, and sounds.

E-textile configures itself as a medium of connection between bodies, weaving invisible networks of gestural and non-verbal communication. When multiple people wear the Abito Sonoro, a sonic ecosystem is generated where each individual movement contributes to a score characterized by mutual listening or non-listening. Proxemics transforms into shared language: distance and proximity modulate the intensity and quality of sound, creating new relational grammars that transcend the boundaries of traditional verbal language. The community dimension of the Abito Sonoro develops primarily through:

Community: multidisciplinary projects that involve the community in experimenting with the device

Educational: workshops and work sessions that involve e-textile device as a tool for exploring relational dynamics and proxemic perception

ArtEco Nexus is a capacity building project funded by the European Union (PNRR) curated by TeatrInGestazione, dedicated to cultural operators to promote the green transition in performing arts. It offers free workshops, masterclasses and educational content on sustainable economy and environmental impact reduction through a multidisciplinary and participatory approach.

Polymechanos is one of the program's laboratories, while Habitus - dressing the scene is the specific module we participated in: an intensive worksession led by Gioele Villani and Federica Terracina, to design and build a device according to environmental sustainability and creative innovation criteria.

Sonic Suit workshop hosted in Hilversum! Create your own wearable sound controller in this workshop guided by @fra.zedde, @federica_terracina and @villanigioele. Are you a musician, performer, designer, coder, dancer, or a curious maker who loves mixing sound, movement, and wearables? 

The SONIC SUIT is an interactive garment prototype with a focus on movement sensors and sound design. In this workshop, you will design and realize your own sonic accessory or garment. We will prototype with sensors and microcontrollers (ESP8266 D1 mini) and experiment with sound triggered by touch, movement, proximity, light. As output, we can modulate sounds in Pure Data, tweak samples and effects in Ableton, or send MIDI signals to (modular) synthesizers.

The key elements driving our multidisciplinary research are interaction and the boundaries between moving bodies and space. The creation of the device brings together three different disciplines: sound, technology, textiles.
