Esplorare lo spazio urbano creando un abito su misura. Ridefinire le forme, interagire con l’ambiente e le sue strutture: chi lo vive, l’architettura e la sua organizzazione. Abito è un installazione tessile partecipativa, richiama gli abitanti del quartiere e gli spettatori alla costruzione di questo intervento, a tessere per ridefinire gli spazi. Il tessuto urbano è un dialogo tra codici e strutture sociali, un’organizzazione variabile e multiforme della comunità. Il tessuto è una trama di fili, la caratteristica della materia varia secondo la loro struttura e percentuale. “I tessuti sono fibre vive, se naturali, sono piante.. come la carta. Se pensiamo alla carne e a recidere, mettere, uscire, giocare, cosa ci viene in mente? Io penso alla nascita oltre all’amore della carne. Acchiappare, tenere fermo, resistere, spilli mi fa venire in mente la passione, l’impazienza e poi la ritrovata calma, perché l’occhio del sarto, come quello della ricamatrice è sempre un punto avanti nel vuoto dell’istante. Cucire in spazi pubblici è portare casa, costruire un luogo”.
Come si organizza un quartiere?

An exploration of the urban space through the creation of a tailor-made dress. Defining anew the shapes, interacting with the environment: who lives it, its architecture and its social structure. Abito is a textile participatory installation that calls the neighborhood inhabitants and the spectators to the construction of this action, to interweave to redefine the spaces. The urban fabric is a dialog between codes and social structures, a variable and multiform organization of the community. The fabric is an interweave of threads, the characteristic of the material varies according to their structure and percentage. “The fabrics are living fiber, if natural, are plants.. as the paper. If we think of the flesh and to sever, put, exit, play, what comes up to mind? I think the birth beyond the love for the flesh. Grab, hold, resist, pins brings to my mind the passion, the impatience and then the newfound calm, because the eye of the tailor, like the embroidery machine ones is always a step ahead in the vacuum of the moment. Sew in public spaces is to bring home, build a place”.

Con l'esperienza di Altofest 2016 si sviluppa come progetto di comunità rivolto agli abitanti di Vico Tronari, nel quartiere Sanità. La tessitura ed il ricamo entrano nella struttura della comunità e cambiano definitivamente il mio modo di pensare la relazione umana.
Qui oltre le foto troverete «Il giorno del ritorno» riflessioni scritte un anno dopo e pubblicate sul «foglio», documento cartaceo.
Tutti gli altri interventi sono strutturati con questo metodo applicando delle variazioni specifiche secondo il luogo e l'habitus sociale.
Embroidering from relationships
The first appearance of «Abito» took place after the experience of Altofest 2016, where I developed for the first time with this title - a community project addressed to the inhabitants of Vico Tronari, in the Sanità district of Naples. With this version of «Abito», weaving and embroidery practises got in touch with the intimate structure of the community. From this point on, all my interventions follow this structure, by applying specific variations according to the place and its social habitus.
